Privacy Statement
Plain-language explanation of what information GetWacky.ca collects and how it's used.
GetWacky.ca is a free appraisal service for Canadian O-Pee-Chee Wacky Packages sticker collections. This page explains what information is collected when you submit an appraisal request and how that information is handled. It is written in plain English so you can quickly see what happens to your data.
What is collected
The appraisal request form on this site asks for:
- A name — used to personalise the appraisal report
- An email address — used to send the completed report back to you
- A rough location (city and province or country) — used for regional context
- Information about the collection — rough size, how it is stored, and anything else you choose to share
- Optional photos — used for identification and condition assessment
- Optional free-text notes — any additional context you want to share about the collection
The site does not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, advertising tags, or any third-party user profiling. No information is collected from visitors who do not fill out the form.
How it is used
Every piece of information collected is used for one purpose: to prepare an appraisal report for the submitted collection and return it to the email address provided. Submissions are never used for marketing, never shared with third parties, and never sold.
If a submission indicates interest in selling, a follow-up message with an informal collector-to-collector offer may be sent after the appraisal. Any such offer is entirely optional — there is no obligation to respond or accept.
How it is stored
Submissions are stored in private Google Drive folders and a private Google Sheet, both protected by account-level security (two-factor authentication, encryption at rest and in transit). No independent server or database handles submission data.
Uploaded photos are stored in the same Drive folder as the submission they belong to. They are not posted publicly, not shared with anyone, and not used for any purpose other than preparing the appraisal.
How long it is kept
Submission records and photos are kept indefinitely, for practical reasons: to support follow-up questions about the same collection, and to maintain historical context for future conversations.
You can request deletion of your submission at any time — see the Request Deletion section below.
Who has access
Access to submissions is limited to the site operator. Submissions are not shared with other collectors, dealers, data brokers, or any third party. The data is not used to populate a mailing list, a marketplace listing, or any aggregated dataset.
The only exception would be a disclosure legally compelled by Canadian law — for example, a court order — in which case only the minimum required information would be disclosed.
Bot protection (reCAPTCHA)
The appraisal form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which runs invisibly in the background to block spam and automated submissions. reCAPTCHA analyses interaction signals (mouse movements, browser characteristics, IP address reputation) to produce a "probably human" score. This service is provided by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Terms of Service.
Using the appraisal form implies acceptance that Google's reCAPTCHA is running on that page.
Cookies and local storage
This site stores one item in your browser's local storage: a theme preference (light or dark mode). This is stored only on your own device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Google reCAPTCHA and Google Fonts may set their own cookies on their own domains. Those cookies are governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one. No first-party tracking cookies are set by this site.
Request deletion or correction
You can request that your submission and any photos be deleted at any time, for any reason. You can also request a copy of the data held on file for you, or ask for corrections to any inaccurate information. All such requests are honoured without requiring a reason.
